Now that we exchange information and data of every kind over the Internet, how do people — and the systems that act alongside them — judge whether that data and information can be trusted? Taking digital identity, blockchain and the cryptography that underpins them as my tools, I study trustworthy circulation of data and information through both the design of architectures and the implementation of working systems.

    Paper published on IEEE Access

    The paper “A Verifier-Centric Conceptual Model for Digital Credential Ecosystems” has been published in IEEE Access. It proposes a model for explaining digital credential ecosystems. It is available as Early Access here.

    Awarded a JST Strategic Basic Research Programs ACT-X grant.

    Our research proposal has been selected for the JST Strategic Basic Research Programs ACT-X “Cyberinfrastructure for AI Empowered Society” program. We will conduct the research from October 2026 to March 2029. The JST press release is available here.

    Paper accepted to IPSJ Transactions on Digital Practices

    Our paper “Practices for Applying Digital Certificates in an Academic Conference: An Experiment with Participation Tickets at the WIDE Camp” has been accepted for publication in IPSJ Transactions on Digital Practices. This paper reports on implementing and providing multiple applications of digital certificates in the context of an academic conference. It will be published in January 2027.
